Stripping
ratio is the ratio of waste plus leaching ore to ore mined in the material moved in an open-pit operation.

Smelter
capacity was increased to 300,000 tons per year in June 1999 with the addition of a new shaft furnace at the La Caridad Smelter.

The
production at the Mexcobre SX-EW facility includes copper scrap production. SX-EW is a procedure involving a combination of solvent extraction and
electrowinning.

The
precious metals refinery at La Caridad commenced operations in July 1999.
